Fiberglass

  • Fiberglass is made from fine fibers of glass which are used as a reinforcing agent in resins. This composite material is more properly known as fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) or glass-reinforced plastic (GRP).

  • Fiberglass performs well for certain exterior car parts, but not as well as ABS based products. The industry norm is to give fiberglass products either no warranty or one year. You receive a three year warranty because of our experience and confidence with the fiberglass wings and spoilers we list. With reasonable care, they will last many years.

  • The tolerances for fiberglass spoilers can be held well and they are straightforward to install. This is not true with fiberglass body kits - they require a lot of fitment and cleanup and are much more difficult to install than ABS based. Also, a car spoiler is in a less harsh environment than a body kit. Therefore, fiberglass can hold up well on the trunk, but not close to the ground. This is why we do not offer fiberglass ground effects.

  • Fiberglass does not require the expensive tooling ABS does. Therefore, manufacturers can produce more styles of spoilers and wings. Sometimes ABS products are not available because the volumes for that particular car style are not high enough to justify the tooling expense. We fill those gaps with high quality fiberglass or urethane products.
